On October 13, 2018, the National Native American Hall of Fame hosted its Inaugural Induction in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Herrington, a member of the Chickasaw Tribe and retired Astronaut, was one of twelve Native Americans honored.

The Atwood Community Christmas will be held at 6:00 pm on Sunday, December 2nd , in the Atwood Community Building. Bring finger foods and enjoy the Christmas program and a visit from Santa who will be bringing gifts for the children!

Clearview, with very few stop signs and no posted speed limits, has the well-known fact that anyone driving down Main Street must drive at a safe speed (slow) knowing there are no stops signs along the way.

Last week, two houses burned in Clearview under suspicious causes. One home was vacant and belonging to the Martin from California had intentions of moving into the home after retirement this year.

Danny Bush spent the holiday in Oklahoma City with his sister Julie Mae Carson and family. He returned home to visit his doctor and received a good report that he is healing and doing well.

Candidates for the Board of Education in Hughes County school districts will file their Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 3rd , and continue Tuesday and Wednesday, Hughes County Election Board Secretary Brandy Davis said today.

GARTEN STUDENTS looked forward to Sucker Day and so they learned about the Flim Flam Man.  On Friday, September 28. Wetumka Kindergarten students re-enacted the Flim Flam Man coming to town.  In the picture, Rylon Lee and Wyatt Peeler enjoyed playing the part of the Flim Flam Man.

Ever since Grandma’s death, I knew the auction was coming up. But then, you can’t really face it until it comes to reality. The Amish tradition is to sell the deceased parents’ items over auction with only the family included.

We had a lot of sickness and other events going on Saturday, Nov. 10th, but we preserved and we made it! Seven Red Hat ladies met at the First Church of God.  This is a beautiful church located on East Main, here in Holden-ville.  It started off being a crazy mix-up day but it ended being great!

11/19/18 We only had 6 “Moon” players tonight at our domonio game, but we all went home winners. Partners were Rusty Jones and Cindy Mc-Daniel; Wanda Davis and Lynn Marquis; Sharon Dilday and Jean Young.  Rusty and Cindy won 3 games including Cindy shooting the moon and making it!
