James Errol Lawrence

James Errol Lawrence passed away Monday, July 27th, 2026 at Shawnee Colonial Estates in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 78.

Jim was bornAugust 30th, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas to Errol Brian Lawrence and Dorothy (Bishop) Brand. Jim served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War for 2 tours in 1967 and 1968. He married Linda Kay DeBusk on July 1, 1970 in Brownfield, Texas. Jim served as Pastor at the Calvin Free Will Baptist Church in Calvin, Oklahoma for 39 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sharing God’s word and his prayer group at Camp Wow. Jim loved spending time with his family and friends.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents Errol Lawrence and Dorothy Brand, and his sister Joyce Sanborn. He is survived by his wife Linda Lawrence of the home, sons; Darrin Lawrence and wife Dawn of Calvin, Brian Lawrence and wife Amber of Wetumka, grandchildren; Chase Lawrence, Brian Lawrence Jr., Nathan Brown, James Lawrence Casey Avrey, Johnny Avrey, great grandchildren; Karlie Lawrence, Annabella Lawrence, Elliana Lawrence, Ian Lawrence and Cade Avery. James is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Brian Lawrence Jr., Chase Lawrence, Nathen Brown, James Lawrence, Johnny Avery and Casey Avery. Honorary pallbearers are Anna Bella Lawrence, Elliana Lawrence, Ian Lawrence Karlie Lawrence and Cade Avery.

Viewing will be 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday July 29, 2026 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m.

Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Calvin Cemetery Chapel in Calvin with Rev. Walter Kuhlman officiating with Mike Russell assisting.

Interment will follow at Calvin Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Hudson- Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
