Naomi Laverne Gore passed away Monday, March 11, 2024 at her home in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 86.Laverne was born March 20, 1937 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Otis P. Chitwood and Lillian Raye (Lewis) Chitwood.Laverne graduated from Wewoka High School.She married James Lloyd Gore.

Jewel Thomas “JT” “Scooter” Akin, born May 8, 1920, passed away in Ada, Oklahoma on March 8, 2024 at 103 years young.Jewel was born to Thomas “Bud” Akin and Carrie Bell (nee Nalley), on May 8, 1920 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma in a cotton field,literally.

Funeral services for Lena Mae McKee were held Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Assembly of God Church of Wetumka. Interment followed at the Wetumka Cemetery.Lena Mae McKee writes. “I was born December 7, 1935, to Marvin and Minnie “Cricket” (Kilbourn) Johnson in Wetumka, Oklahoma.

Bill T. Horn passed away Monday, March 4th, 2024 at Heritage Village Nursing Center in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 89.Bill was born May 5, 1934 in Holdenville to William Thomas Horn and Lola E. (McCoy) Madden. He attended high school in River Bank, California.

Rex Little was born on May 22, 1948 and he passed away March 2, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Rex lived most of his life in Oklahoma and worked at a commercial brick plant for over 30 years. His favorite song was “Take It Easy” and his motto was always “It’s All Good.

Odessa Mae Martin passed away at her home in Calvin, Oklahoma on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the age of 79 years.Odessa is the daughter of Carl J. Vandeveer and Jewel (Hampton) Vandeveer, born on November 17, 1944, in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Alma Williams, 84, died February 26, 2024. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m.today, Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the Bible Baptist Church with burial following at 3:00 p.m. in the Wetumka Cem- etery. Strode Fu neral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
