CALVIN BOYS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM WINS 2A REGIONAL TITLE, HEADED TO STATE — The Calvin XC team competed in Saturday, October 19th at the Class 2A Eastern Oklahoma Regional Cross-Country meet held in Kiefer.

Wetumka hosts Dewar Friday at 7:00 p.m. Weleetka hosts Quinton Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Weleetka faced a tough Dewar team and came out on the losing end 60-6. The Outlaws only score came on a 96 yard kick-off return in the second quarter.

Holdenville Cubs Clean House at Wewoka Tri City Olympics Repeating last year’s style at the Tri City Cub Scout Olympics, Holdenville Cub Pack 420, under the leadership of Lee Smith, made a clean sweep at the Olympics Saturday held at Wewoka.

Weleetka came out on top 12-6 in a hardfought game against Porum Thursday night. Both teams scored a touchdown in the opening quarter and neither scored in the second period. The Outlaws score came when Dakota Hendrix ran 10 yards. Dakota Hendrix ran 10 yards.

THE CALVIN BULLDOGS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM brought home the team championship at the North Rock Creek XC meet on October 16th. Every team member finished in the top runners group bringing home a medal. The team is currently ranked #2 in the State in Class B for cross country.

The Wetumka – Weleetka rivalry ended with the Chieftains winning 38-16 Thursday night. Wetumka scored the first touchdown in the opening quarter when Jordan Osborn connected with Alex Freeman for a 48-yard touchdown.

Despite scoring thirty points in the final period, Weleetka came up short, falling to Arkoma 55-52. Arkoma scored 41 points in the opening period, while the Outlaws put 22 points on the board. Arkoma scored once in the third quarter and once in the fourth.

In a high scoring contest, the Chieftains came out the winners 50-44 over Prue. Wetumka will travel to Weleetka Thursday night to face the Outlaws. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Alex Freeman picked up 145 yards against Prue and scored two touchdowns.

On September 11, 2020, Donavin Evans made a tackle which caused a fumble resulting in a win for the Okemah High School Panthers football game against Pawnee High School. Donavin, a freshman, received the “Panther Punisher” for his efforts.
