    Chieftains tame Bruins as Noriega goes off

    The Wetumka Chieftains beat the Caddo Bruins Friday in a district battle on a wet field in the rain. And playing in the rain makes the passing game difficult at best. “We had to be pretty conservative on our play calls to make sure we held on to the ball,” Head Coach Derrell Reid said.

    Outlaws shut out Maud 46-0

    The Outlaw offense rolled up 46 points Friday night against Maud while the defense held Maud scoreless. Weleetka scored 16 points in the first quarter and added 22 in the second period for a 38-0 halftime lead. The first score came when Brennan Lewis took a Maud punt 55 yards for a touchdown.

    Wolverines travel to Meeker Friday

    The Holdenville Wolverines lost to the Jones Longhorns Oct. 17, by a score of 44-0. Jones, which sits atop Class 2A District 2, dominated the first quarter. The Longhorns’ offense scored four touchdowns in the first period, while their defense stifled Holdenville’s offense.

    Weleetka to host Maud Friday night

    Weleetka put 46 points on the scoreboard Friday night on the way to a 46-14 victory over Strother. Strother scored first in the game, but that was the only time they led. With less than two minutes left in the first period Brennon Lewis connected with Devin Davis for a 71 yard touchdown.

    Chieftains stung by Yellowjackets

    The Wetumka Chieftains lost to the Strother Yellowjackets Oct. 17 by a score of 52-32. The Chieftains got off to a great start by scoring on their first offensive play. About two-and-a-half minutes into the first quarter, quarterback Colt Hickerson passed the ball to Lucky Yahola for a touchdown.

    The Wetumka Chieftains played their first district game of the season Friday night and won by a score of 42-22. The Chieftains scored quickly in the game versus the Maud Tigers.
