    Turnovers doom Wolverines on the road

    The Holdenville Wolverines suffered a tough loss Friday night after several turnovers derailed the team’s first-half momentum. “It was 22-20 right before half,” head coach Bill Williams said. “We turned it over four times in a row coming out and they got four touchdowns.

    Wetumka wallops Waukomis

    The Wetumka Chieftains went on a scoring spree in the second quarter of Thursday’s game to wallop the Waukomis Chiefs, 50-14. The game -- originally scheduled for Friday night -- was held Thursday as a massive amount of rain was predicted to (and did) hit the area Friday.

    Graham-Dustin wins fourth straight game

    Graham/Dustin picked up their fourth straight win with a 72-40 victory over Lutheran Christian Academy. The locals scored 14 points in the first quarter and also in the second to lead 28-18 at half.

    Chieftains lose heartbreaker to Dewar

    On a night when more than 100 points were scored, the Wetumka Chieftains dropped a heartbreaker to the Dewar Dragons. Coach Darrell Reid said there were a lot of big plays during the game. “I was most impressed that they didn’t give up,” Reid said.

    September 22 there will be a City Wide Cleanup from 10 to 12 with a Potluck lunch at noon. Weather permitting, after lunch they will clean for another hour.

    Jennings, White lead Graham-Dustin to 82-49 win

    For the second straight week the Graham-Dustin offense was unstoppable. Last week they demolished Life Christian 94-54. This week was another amazing win, 82-49 over Eagle Point Christian Academy.
