    Chieftains swat Yellowjackets

    The Wetumka Chieftains beat the Strother Yellowjackets Friday night to remain unbeaten in Class B District 5. Head coach Darrell Reid said the team was firing on all cylinders Friday. “Things went pretty well, even though it was wet,” he said.

    Holdenville runs over Henryetta

    The Holdenville Wolverines’ offense ran for a whopping 665 yards Friday night en route to a big victory over Henryetta. Head coach Bill Williams said the Wolverines got into some trouble in the second half, but didn’t let that get them down and beat the Knights, 34-13.

    Co-ed Basketball Tournament

    There will be a co-ed basketball tournament, October 13 at the Wetumka Gym. It will begin at 9:00 a.m. Entry fee is $100.00 per team and the money will be used to support the purchase of new basketball uniforms for Wetumka Elementary School.

    Chieftains tame Maud Tigers

    The Wetumka Chieftains were firing on all cylinders Friday night en route to a victory in their first district game of the season. The 60-14 win over the Maud Tigers had a lot to do with the Chieftains’ starting defense constantly putting heavy pressure on the Tigers’ offense.

    Graham-Dustin Chieftains remain undefeated

    Graham/Dustin raced to a convincing 60-12 victory over Webber’s Falls in a conference game Friday night. The locals led 12-0 at the end of the first quarter and increased the lead to 34-0 at half. They added 12 more points in the 3rd period and 14 in the final quarter.

    Sooners head into Red River rivalry 5-0

    The Oklahoma Sooners football team started off the September 1  season opener strong with an impressive 63-14 victory over Florida Atlantic University .  The Sooners offense amassed 650 total yards with 7 different rushers and 9 different receivers contributing to the stat line.
