Our precious angel, Doria Jean Myers, was born on February 15, 1940 to Milton E. Edwars, Sr. and Ammie Reed in Clearview, OK. She came as one of a set of beautiful twin girls.

Doria accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Church of God In Christ in Clearview, OK. Years later she joined the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church, pastored by Reverend A. G. Woodberry.

Doria attended the old Douglass High School in Oklahoma City, OK with her identical twin sister, Gloria. They were known as very independent and strong young ladies and also as pranksters who loved to play jokes on others. They kept the teachers and classmates guessing as to which twin was which as they were identical down to their voice quality and even the way they laughed – oh boy, did they love to laugh.

Doria was beast known for the love she had for her family and friends, but when it came to her children, she had a special love that shined so bright. If you met her, you loved her and if she cooked for you her special seasoning was love.

In 1957, she met Mr. Marvin Nolan Myers, Sr. to whom she married in 1960. Eight children were born to this union. Later in life she met the man she would spend the rest of her days with, Mr. Arnold Luton; he truly adored her. This union would last until her demise.

Doria had ten children: Leroy, Fredrick, Marvin, Portia, Pamela, Kathy, Mark Anthony Samuel, Gregory, and Kevin. With a heart as big as hers, she had others who called her mother along the way, and the way she adored her grandkids, she was mother to some of them as well. When it came to hobbies, she loved playing spades; she knew that she and Champ could not be beat. She loved all of her grandkids, but a daily call from Kevin, KeKe, and Mo-Moe always brightened her days and to see Avery everyday. But when she saw Anthon, she knew that great gifts were coming her way. When Lank showed up it would brighten her day, but what gave her strenth was knowing she would see Kathy every day. Doria always had a great love for family and enjoyed spending time with them; she had a nurturing spirit and was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

On July 13, 2021, God saw to call one of his beautiful flowers home from his garden to rest.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Myers, Sr.; her parents, Milton E. Edwars,Sr. and Ammie Reed; brothers, Jimmy Edwars and Milton Edwars, Sr.; sisters: Edith Mae Edwars, Minnie Hamilton, and Gloria Randle; sons, Fredrick Carter and Mark Anthony Myers; grandson, Tyron Jones; and great-grandson, Kenyoun Tre`Von Myers.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one brother, Earnest Hamilton of Tulsa, OK; five sons: Leroy Carter (LaDrena) of Oklahoma City, OK, Marvin Myers of Wewoka, OK, Samuel Myers, Gregory Myers, and Kevin Myers, all of Oklahoma City, OK; three daughters; Potia Myers, Pamela Thomas (Kenneth), and Kathy Myers, all of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister-in-law, Patricia Edwars of Grand Prairie, TX; the love of her life, Mr. Arnold Luton of the home; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
