Private services held for Wynema Morrow Nalley

Wynema Morrow Nalley finished this life’s journey and joined her Lord in glory on March 10, 2021.

Her long life was full of love, family, world travels, making all of those around her work, feel hope and encouragement. She possessed a positively contagious outlook—even when life became a challenge. Her steadfast belief in GOD and scripture directed her life and this faith influenced us all.

Mother was a woman who wore many titles: mom, wife, sister, friend, confidant, and businesswoman. And she always stood up and defended those she believed were mistreated.

Mother possessed a sense of style and beauty that was uncompromised. Her skill and ability for fashion translated into owning popular retail dress shops and her natural beauty and incomparable sense of style would dazzle the most sophisticated fashionistas. When Wynema entered a room her natural beauty and classic presence were captivating. From a pair of jeans to a ballroom gown, Mom’s grace was undeniable.

Mother’s lifelong passion for health, wellness, nutrition and exercise benefited her long life.

As a Marine Corp wife for over twenty-five years, she often found herself alone— raising three children— while her husband served. Her commitments extended beyond family and poured over into her community, church, and country. She served as a Garfield County Republican Party Chairwoman as a long-time resident of Enid and for the past 25 years lived in her hometown of Holdenville that she so adored.

Although a small-town gal, Mother traveled the world visiting countries including Dubai, Italy, France, England, Sicily, Central America, Egypt, Greece, Malta, and Scandinavia. Everywhere she traveled, she left nuggets of grace and compassion while learning about the world and bringing those experiences home. Her home was filled with books and momentous items from her travels.

Mother was a sports fan and loved spending time with her family watching OU and OSU Football, Thunder basketball, and Championship golf. She appreciated and understood the dedication it took to excel, and she passed this knowledge of commitment, health, and discipline onto to her children. The small things in Nature brought her great joy from a newly budding tree to floating white clouds, the song of morning birds, and the gentle gliding of fallen leaves.

And, above all, her wisdom and love will live on in the lives of those she left behind. Known as Chick, Mims, and Momma Bear, her gracious words of wisdom resonate in our minds and hearts. Statements like: “Choose JOY every day”; It’s called living because it means to LIVE and go paint your own reality.” Mother possessed the gift to assess a situation then quickly offer a direct and intelligent observation.

The family would like to recognize her nephew Gene Shed, beloved neighbor Amy McDaniel, both so graciously supported Mother, and to the Christian souls of Integris Hospice House who so faithfully served our Mother and the family during her last days.

She is preceded in death by her parents, four older sisters, her husband, E.D. Nalley, and son

Roque N. Nalley.

Wynema is survived by her son Michael D. Nalley, daughter Kim Nalley Myers, grandchildren Samantha and Preston Carlton, Rachel Nalley, Nathan and Megan Suttmiller, Matthias Johnson and greatgranddaughters Malley Samantha Suttmiller and Rylie Jo Suttmiller, sister, Kita Vyce, husband Allen and son Ian and brother James Morrow.

Mother was laid to rest as per her request in a private family service on March 13, 2021 at the Holdenville Cemetery and although no longer with us, memory of her amazing life remains forever.
