    We were dressed and ready to go out for the New Years Eve Party. We turned on a night light, turned the answering machine on, covered our pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard. We phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi.

    In the living room of my childhood home there were two chairs, a couch and a television set. My mom always sat in the rocking chair. My dad’s territory was the Barkerlounger. My sister and I usually ended up on the couch or the floor if my folks were sitting in their designated places.

    I became a fan of newspapers in grade school. The first newspaper I bought on a regular basis was GRIT. I also sold it. By the time I entered junior high I bought the Daily Oklahoman and Tulsa World every day. I still take several newspapers and can’t imagine starting the day without reading them.

    Take time to reflect on the past and how simple life was a few years ago. Think about these things of the past. Black and White TV. Mainly, the thing you could see very well was white dots called snow. If you are under age 40, you won’t understand.

    Music Recital Given at Calvin The tune Time Music Club met in the home of Mrs. Iva Clemons Saturday afternoon with seven members present. Judith Robertson, president, conducted the business session at which time the club name was cchosen.
