SOME OF HUGHES COUNTY’S FINEST QUILTERS displayed some of their beautiful quilts recently at the Holdenville First Church of God. Quilters pictured are Melba Cook, Brenda Lunsford, Geraldine Smith, Susie Brittain and Mary Tate.

Shirley Ballard Nero celebrated her birthday on Saturday evening at Abuelos Mexican Restaurant at Tulsa Hills with 20 of her family members. Shirley was not the only one celebrating in December. She was joined by her son Donnie Jr.

At one time Clearview had a bank – the Clear-view Bank. There is not much known of the bank, only that it existed early in the history of the town. The neighboring town of Boley had the most famous of the banks in Oklahoma which has recently received a grant to restore the still standing building.
