Homicide in Wetumka Wednesday morning

The Hughes County Tribune has learned that there was a stabbing in Wetumka at approximately 3:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. Our source tells us that one man is dead.

Wetumka base water rate to increase

The Wetumka Public Works and the Wetumka City Council held their regular scheduled meeting on October 10 at 7 PM. The council members present included June Fixico, Norma Marshall, Rebecca Jackson and Randy Hinckley. James Jackson, Mayor and John Baca, city attorney, were also present.

Wetumka Fall Walk-Around location changed!

The Fall Walk-Around sponsored by the Wetumka Kiwanis and Key Club has changed the location of the event from the High School football field to the parking lot of the Family Health Center of Southern Oklahoma on Main Street. Those wishing to hand out candy can arrive at 5:30 p.m. to set up.

HALO needs donations

HALO is in need of monetary donations and food donations.  We have finished our last project, hopefully, on the physical plant of the shelter. There are now three fenced-in areas to place dogs in for exercise and to separate the animals while they clean the kennels.

Third liver transplant needed for Marquis Reynolds;

We recently talked to Zay Reynolds. He is a former Dustin resident now living in Centralia, Washington. During our conversation, we learned that his grandson is waiting on a third liver transplant. The 19-year-old young man lives in Centralia, Washington.

Holdenville Game Night news

We had 8 “Moon” players Monday night at the Nazarene Fellowship Hall.  That means 2 full tables and no waiting for your turn to play!  YaHoo! At table 1 - We had Selma Fitzhugh and Joyce Brinlee battling it out against Cindy McDaniel and Sharon Dilday.  They both won 3 games each.
