It looked like an upset in the making when Weleetka jumped off to a 12-0 lead against Dewar Friday night. With less than a minute into the game Brennon Lewis broke loose for a 61 yard touchdown. Seconds later Boogie Micco received a Dewar fumble and took it in for the touchdown and a 12-0 lead.

Bruner and Cofer Will Be Honored Lt. Riley Bruner and Sfc. James D. Cofer, released county prisoners of war, will be guests of honor at a luncheon at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday in the basement of Barnard Memorial Methodist Church. The civic clubs of Holdenville will act as hosts.

DIZZY DEAN DAY will be held on October 12 at Spaulding. The day begins with a pancake breakfast at 7 am. The parade starts at 12 noon. There will be games, gospel singing and all kinds of vendors and food.

There were 10 Red Hat Ladies that invaded Golden Corral in Shawnee on August 10th. We had a corner room where we could greet everyone and have loads of fun! Before we went to the salad bar, Naomi Tomlinson gave our blessing of the food and the people that prepared it and for our safe trip.

PHYLLIS SHROPSHIRE WINS BLUE RIBBON IN STTE 4-H TALK Phyllis Shropshire, Holdenville, has been declared a blue ribbon winner at the State 4-H Roundup in Stillwater, it was announced today. Miss Shropshire, a member of the Fairview 4-H Club, won the high mark on a 4-H talk.
