The Wetumka City Council held their regular meeting on Monday January 14, 2018. The Council members present included Rick Griggs, Robert Jaggers and Larry Roberts. John Allen was absent. Other officials present included Aaron Walker, City Manager, Brent McGee, Mayor and John Baca, City Attorney.

Oh, how much fun we had Monday night!! We had two new members to try their hand at “Moon” dominoes! They were Joyce Brinlee and Barbara Tiger. Actually, these two were old hands at this game! But since they were new to our group, we promised to be nice.
The Town of Clearview will observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 21st beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Main Street Community Building at 302 West Main Street.
The Clearview Community Center will receive a paved parking lot soon, as soon as the weather warms up and the ground dries enough for the dozers and equipment can come in and start the removal.
Jeff Underwood, field representative for U. S. Senator Langford’s office, visited in Clearview on January 11th . Jeff had met with several Black Town mayors in the fall of 2018 during a meeting in Taft. During that meeting, he learned much history about Black towns and wanted to learn more.
