Longtime publisher Stu Phillips passes away

PUBLISHER’S NOTE: Stu Phillips was our longtime friend and a newspaper publisher that I admired greatly. He was the third generation of the Phillips family to serve as publisher of the Seminole Producer. He also owned The Konawa Times and The Wewoka Times.

Register to vote in special election by January 18th

Friday, January 18th , is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the February 12th election, The Board of Education and Special Election for Weleetka and Wetumka Schools, Hughes County Election Board Secretary Brandy Davis said today.

Absentee voters must re-apply

Hughes County Election Board Secretary Brandy Davis reminds all voters that, even if they have signed up for absentee ballots in the past, they will need to re-apply before the next election. Absentee forms will NOT be mailed out to standard voters.
