Forrest was a 1952 graduate of Holdenville High School. He entered the U.S. Army in August 1952 and served 25 years until his retirement in 1980. He had a combat tour in the Korean War rising from Private to the rank of Master Sergeant, then was given a direct commission to 2nd Lieutenant in the U.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Holdenville • 8th and Oak St. This service is held each year on the longest night of the year. Symbolically it acknowledges the darkness we may feel when we are grieving a loss. That loss may be a loved one, lost through death, divorce or separation.

I know it’s fast approaching Christmas and I had a nice little holiday column all typed and ready to go when I received the following little ditty from my fellow Holdenville High School graduate and Jones, America banker deluxe Donna Gordon Klick and it’s just too good to pass up.
