1st Annual Wetumka Livestock Show Team Pie Auction and Banquet

The 1st Annual Wetumka Livestock Show Team Pie Auction and Banquet will be held on October 9, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the Wetumka School Auditorium. Tickets are $15 and $5 for kids under 10. Proceeds will go to help support the needs of Wetumka’s youth involved in 4-H and FFA Livestock Showing.

Graham-Dustin Wins in 2 Overtimes!

Graham-Dustin remains undefeated after a thrilling 26-20 win over Midway in double overtime. Midway jumped to a 6-0 lead n the first quarter and increased it to 18-8 at halftime. The locals scored a touchdown in the third period to cut the lead to 18-14.

Dustin Drug Awareness Day

The Town of Dustin will be hosting a Drug Awareness Day on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00a.m. at the Dustin Pocket Park across from City Hall. The event will be hosted by the Dustin Activities Committee, TSET Healthy Living Program, Hughes County Sheriff’s Dept.

New Name, New website, Expanded county news coverage

Effective October 4, 2018, the name of your newspaper will change from Hughes County Times to Hughes County Tribune. At the same time, we will officially launch our new website, which will be state of the art and allow us to post items whenever needed, seven days a week.

Wetumka business up

Wetumka business was up in the latest report from the Oklahoma Tax Commission. According to figures reported in the July 11 press release from the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC), six out of ten Hughes County communities reported a tax disbursement decrease.
