The Berry 17 Annual Get Together was held at Holdenville, OK on July 27, 28 and 29 of 2018 in the Holdenville High School cafeteria for the offspring of Dillard and Ludie Berry. They had 15 children; all are now deceased. On Friday night July 27th was a meet and greet night at Shawnee, OK motel.

Christopher Baseman, age 33 of Wetumka, was on his way home on 270 when a vehicle in front of him slowed to make a left-hand turn. He rear-ended the car was killed. There were no injuries in the other vehicle. Baseman was employed at CCA in Holdenville. We will have more details in next weeks TIMES.

Amber Jones will be the new Hughes County Assessor after defeating incumbent Jamie Foster in a runoff 811 to 548. Republicans in other Hughes County voting Tuesday picked Kevin Stitt over Mike Cornett 372 to 245 for governor. For Lt. Governor, Matt Pinnell received 386 votes to Dana Murphy’s 217.

Alpheus Grundy celebrated his 87th birthday with his wife Dorothy at Betty’s in Okemah last with. Also, his sister-in-law, Patsy French, friend Otis Davis, Ted and Marilyn Jackson, and Donnie and Shirley Nero were in attendance.
