Alberta “Dickie” Darks was born in Harrison, AR to Albert Parsely and Elizabeth (Cunningham) on February 15, 1919. She passed away on November 1, 2019. She was very creative and loved doing things that were artsy. When she was 14 years old she designed and made her own winter coat.

Lee J. Estep was born February 4, 1931 to Carl and Laura Estep at Sand Creek, near Cromwell. He married Jera Hickman on July 4, 1952. He worked 40 years in the oil field as a driller, roughneck, and tool pusher.

Dr. Jafar T. Hashemi, 81 passed away peacefully at home in Norman, Oklahoma on November 5, 2019. Jafar was born in Gonabad, Iran, December 20, 1937 to Ali & Zinat (Tafreshi) Hashemi. He attended the University of Tehran, from which he was awarded a scholarship to study abroad in England.

ROLAND, Okla. (KFSM) — It was standing room only as students and members of the community packed into the Roland High School gym to honor the life of coach Waymon Potts. The 50-year-old Roland head football coach died unexpectedly Wednesday (Nov. 6).

Gregory Lee Fish was born February 13, 1960 in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at his home in Wetumka, Oklahoma at the age of 59. Visitation was held Sunday, November 10, 2019, 12:00- 6:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home, 403 S. Main Street, Wetumka, Oklahoma.

Doris “Eldean” Reeder passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at home in Stuart, Oklahoma at the age of 89. Eldean was born April 28, 1930 in Stuart to Noah Sutterfield and Winnie Davis Sutterfield.  She attended Rock Creek and Stuart public schools.

Jimmie Daphne Stafford passed away in McAlester, Oklahoma on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at the age of 91 years.   Jimmie was the daughter of Tilford A. Redding and Bonnie Jewel (Byrd) Redding, born on April 16, 1928, in Tiger Flats, Okfuskee County, Oklahoma.

A house fire early Sunday morning claimed the life of Holdenville resident Brandon S. Puente, 33, who was reportedly believed to be asleep when the fire began. The house was located at 6977 EW 1335 off of old 270 west.

Leighton Dean Hammond, age 77, of Wetumka, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away Monday morning, October 28, 2019 surrounded by his family that included his loving caretaker Michelle Sparks at his home.
