    We had 10 Moon players Monday night at the Nazarene Fellowship Hall! Those playing were Sharon Dilday and Barbara Tiger; Mary Wagner and Cindy McDaniel; Selma Fitzhugh and Joyce Brinlee; and Wanda Davis and Lynn Marquis, Jean Young and Arjean Williams.

    Chieftains fall to Davenport

    The Wetumka Chieftains suffered their first loss of the season Friday night at the hands of the Davenport Bulldogs, 54-8. The Bulldogs received the ball and scored in just two plays. In the following possession for the Chieftains, the Bulldogs got a pick 6.

    We had 6 “Moon” players Monday night at the Nazarene Fellowship Hall.  Playing as partners were Sharon Dilday and Joyce Brinlee; Cindy McDaniel and Barbara Tiger and Selma Fitzhugh and Lynn Marquis.  Since we only had 6 players, we drew for low man on the totem pole lays out.

    Wolverines roughed up in Wewoka

    The Holdenville Wolverines had a rough start to the 2019 football season Friday night after a 52-12 loss to the Wewoka Tigers. The Wolverines were outmatched by the Tigers, who finished the game with 175 yards receiving and 228 yards rushing, along with seven touchdowns.

    Weleetka drops heartbreaker to Keota

    Weleetka opened the football season with a heartbreaking loss to Keota 44-42. It was close the entire game. Keota took a 20-16 lead in the first quarter and added 18 more points in the second period for a 38-30 halftime lead. Both teams scored 6 in the third period.

    Outlaws outscore Davenport 32-28

    Weleetka was on the losing end of a heartbreaker in their season opener but Friday they came out on top in another close one with a 32-28 win over Davenport. Davenport scored first when K. Bobril took the opening kick-off and raced 90 yards for a touchdown.

    Chieftains swat hornets with rushing attack

    The Wetumka Chieftains football team won its second game of the season Friday night, holding the Depew Hornets to just six points. It was the second week in a row the Chieftains held their opponent to six points. Wetumka got off to a slow start, but there was a reason for that.
