Although the Wetumka Chieftains offense was rough around the edges Friday night, the defense was solid, and capitalized on many turnovers committed by the Waukomis Chiefs. That led to the Chieftains winning their first game of the season by a lopsided margin, 46-6.

The Holdenville Wolverines football team is gearing up for a new season, and held its annual media day Aug. 22. The event allows news organizations to photograph the players and learn more about the team. Leading the helm is new head coach, Monty Lewis.
