    Bo Gibbs, Jr. to fight in World Boxing Championship

    Wetumka graduate, Bo “Hands of War” Gibbs, age 25, will face the biggest fight in his career,  November 17, in Australia against Zach Dunn. This will be for the World Boxing Association Oceania Super Middle Weight Championship.

    Chieftains end regular with big win; playoffs next

    The Wetumka Chieftains were victorious Nov. 1 in a game between two Class B District 5 unbeatens. The Chieftains beat the Weleetka Outlaws, 54-8. was a big , coach Darrell Reid said. The game was competitive in the first quarter.

    Chieftains tame Cougars

    The Wetumka Chieftains didn’t have much trouble on the road Friday night beating the Canadian Cougars handily, 60 - 14. The Chieftains scored three times in each of the first three quarters.

    Graham-Dustin remains undefeated!!

    The Graham/Dustin offense continued to explode with a 60-0 win over Wilson—Henryetta. The locals remain undefeated. Thursday night they amassed 40 points in the first quarter and pet another 20 on the scoreboard in the second period.

    Holdenville falls to Meeker

    Despite scoring four touchdowns in their Oct. 5 game against Meeker, the Holdenville Wolverines were unable to stop the Bulldogs’ potent offense. The Bulldogs won the game, 56-24, but most of the damage was done in the first quarter as they scored 32 points.

    Chieftains conquer Caddo

    The Wetumka Chieftains beat the Caddo Bruins Oct. 18, despite some nasty field conditions. It didn’t rain during the game, however, head coach Darrell Reid said the field at Caddo High School was pretty boggy from previous rains.

    Holdenville falls to Jones

    By Randy Mitchell The Holdenville Wolverines lost to the Jones Longhorns Friday night, 55-6. In the first quarter, the Wolverines battled well against the Longhorns, ranked number one in Class 2A District 2. On a rainy night, with a wet field, many of Holdenville’s drives ended with punts.

    Graham-Dustin scores 84 points in victory

    The Graham/Dustin offense continued to roll over their opponent with an unbelievable 84-40 victory over Bowlegs. The game was never in doubt as the locals scored twice in the first period to lead 16-0 and increased it to 46-16 at half.
