    Hunter Timmons, Jr.

Hunter Timmons Jr., age 86, of Wetumka, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, leaving behind a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, faithful service, and a warm spirit that will be remembered by all who knew him.

Hunter was born on February 16, 1940, in Paris, Arkansas, to Hunter Timmons Sr. and Allie Viola (Blackard) Timmons. He grew up with the values of perseverance, responsibility, and kindness that would guide him throughout his life. Those who knew him best will remember him as a funny, loving, and selfless man who could always be counted on to lend a hand or share a laugh.

Hunter spent many years working at the McAlester Ammunition Plant and also built a long career as a skilled carpenter. He took pride in honest work and in using his hands to create, build and repair with care and precision. His strong work ethic and practical nature were matched by his generous heart, and he was respected by those who worked alongside him. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as an aircraft mechanic during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that reflected his dedication, discipline, and sense of duty.

On June 18, 1963, Hunter married Margaret (Hill) Timmons, and together they shared many years of life until her passing on August 4, 1986. Later, on April 10, 1992, in Wetumka, Oklahoma, he married Katie Lynn (Mathis) Timmons, who survives him and was a cherished companion in his later years. Hunter found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life, especially playing his guitar. He enjoyed performing in numerous bands over the years, and music was one of the many ways he shared his personality and brought happiness to others.

Hunter was preceded in death by his parents, Hunter and Allie Timmons; one brother, George Timmons; one sister, Paula Joyce Cecil; two stepsons, Travis and Joshua Pack; and two twin sisters who passed away at birth. Though he experienced loss in his lifetime, he remained steadfast and continued to care deeply for those around him.

He is survived by his wife, Katie Timmons of the home; one son, Brian Lee Timmons of Wetumka; two sisters, Sue Hill and Luann Hill of Wetumka; grandchildren, Samuel and Paige Timmons; step-grandchild, Austin Pack; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. His family will remember his humor, his steady presence, and the many ways he showed love through his actions. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and in the memories shared by those who were blessed to know him.
